Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay, born August 24, 1972, in Long Beach California. DuVernay was encouraged by her aunt Denise at the age of an infant. DuVernay worked as a night nurse to allow her aunt to have the space she required during her day time to enjoy the pleasures of literature, art, and theater. DuVernay enjoyed the movie West Side Story, which she showed her. DuVernay discovered by watching her mother's model of the power of art as an instrument for activism. DuVernay's mother also had the social sensitivity and taught DuVernay how to communicate via artwork. While DuVernay lived living in Compton with her parents, she was a summer resident living in Lowndes County Alabama where her parents lived for many generations. The father of DuVernay's recollects seeing the historic march of the Civil Rights Movement on the Edmund Pettus Bridge. It was held in Selma Alabama, a neighboring city. The time spent in Selma, Alabama during the summer, inspired her later to direct a movie about The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his Civil Rights Movement. DuVernay graduated from Saint Joseph High School Lakewood California in 1990. DuVernay attended University of California Los Angeles after graduating, where she received qualifications in English and African American Studies. While she was still studying, DuVernay became interested in producing for the broadcast media. She was an intern with CBS News at the time of O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay remembers being asked examine the garbage in the house that belonged to a member of the jury. As a result of her work she began to feel dissatisfied by journalism and moved into the public relations industry. DuVernay started her first job as a publicity specialist in a small production studio right out of high school. She started The DuVernay Agency, her public relations firm in 1999. She also started several lifestyles and promotional networks, including Urban Beauty Collective. Urban Eye, HelloBeautiful, and Urban Thought Collective. Autumn Riley.............................Autumn Riley was born in Los Angeles United States. Autumn Riley has the birth name of. She is an actress well-known for her roles in American Experience (1987) and A More Perfect Union (2009). Autumn was in the role of Rose as well as Anna Payne for A More Perfect Union.
